O Vasco ficou no empate sem gols com a Ponte Preta em uma partida que ficou marcada mais pelo desentendimento entre o zagueiro Rodrigo e o técnico Milton Mendes. Mesmo sem a vitória, Mateus Vital classificou o resultado fora de casa como importante. Segundo o jovem meia, é sempre importante pontuar no Campeonato Brasileiro.

– Com certeza (empate foi importante). Pontuar sempre é bom. Ainda mais em um campeonato tão difícil quanto o Brasileiro. Então é sempre importante estar somando pontos na tabela.

De volta ao time titular contra a Ponte Preta, Mateus foi um dos poucos que se salvaram na equipe cruz-maltino. Na segunda etapa, o meia procurou organizar a equipe e criou algumas boas chances.

O Vasco ocupa a 12ª posição do Brasileirão, com 24 pontos. O próximo compromisso da equipe é no domingo, contra o Palmeiras, em Volta Redonda.

It is thought the unavailability of Sri Lanka in that period scuppered the plans. Though it now stands cancelled, it isn’t certain whether it was ever officially on.”The event will not go ahead,” a senior PCB official told Cricinfo. “We were told Sri Lanka could not make it in that time but no reason has been given.”The event was part of a deal which the PCB signed with Dubai Sports City, but which has been the subject of some contention and confusion. The deal was brokered – but not apparently signed – last year by the PCB at a time when Nasim Ashraf had resigned as chairman of the board and there was considerable administrative chaos within the organisation.Finally, a deal was signed by Ijaz Butt, the present board chairman. For Pakistan, faced with uncertain commitments at home due to the unstable security situation that has seen several sides refuse to visit, the deal was a pragmatic path to playing and gaining financially.At the time, Shafqat Naghmi, then chief operating officer, said the three-year deal was worth US$9 million to Pakistan, who would be required to play a set number of matches through the year. It is understood, however, that the deal is not an exclusive to Pakistan and similar plans have been made with other subcontinent countries.Pakistan, the official said, stood to earn US$2.9 million from the event, money which would have come in handy for a financially-strapped administration.

Some Wolves fans have been left gushing over news which has emerged involving Conor Coady.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of England’s FIFA World Cup qualifier at home to Andorra this evening, Gareth Southgate has confirmed (via Talking Wolves) that the Molineux skipper will start.

Coady has made five senior appearances for the Three Lions so far, scoring one goal, and was named in their Euro 2020 squad, although he did not get on the pitch during the tournament this summer (Transfermarkt).

The game against Andorra in front of fans at Wembley will give him another chance to impress Southgate, who will hopefully keep the 28-year-old in his plans when the World Cup finals come around, so long as England can qualify for the tournament.

Speaking to ‘Waiting for Calciomercato’, via Inter-News.it, journalist Alfredo Pedulla has made a Tottenham Hotspur transfer claim involving Argentina star Lautaro Martinez.

The Lowdown: Martinez saga…

The Times first broke news of Spurs’ move nearly two weeks ago, lifting the lid on a fee which could have reached more than £60 million for the Inter Milan forward.

However, after the Serie A champions sold Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea, the move was instantly called off with Martinez then looking set to stay (Fabrizio Romano).

His agent even confirmed the player is ‘ready to stay’ with contract talks about to be opened, but that hasn’t stopped some reports flooding in as Pedulla brings the latest twist to this saga.

The Latest: Pedulla drops Martinez claim…

Speaking to ‘Waiting for Calciomercato’ (via Inter-News.it), the Sport Italia reporter has made a transfer claim involving Spurs as he indicates they have not quite given up yet.

He claims that the Lilywhites have tried again for Martinez ‘in the last few days’ and Tottenham are trying to get into a ‘hypothetical dispute’ between the player and his representatives.

“Tottenham also made concrete attempts before the transfer of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea,” Pedulla explains.

“Once the Belgian sold, the Nerazzurri removed Lautaro Martinez from the market, to the satisfaction of the player who never put his foot down. Will have the increase to 6 plus bonuses, that’s up to you.

“Atletico Madrid and Tottenham have also tried in the last few days, trying to get into some hypothetical dispute between Inter and the player’s entourage. But the situation is serene and Lautaro Martinez is happy. The contract is now an obligatory step.”

The Verdict: Interesting news…

While this update doesn’t edge Spurs any closer to signing the star striker, with Martinez still staying as it stands, this could still indicate managing director Fabio Paratici’s determination to strengthen Nuno Espirito Santo’s options going forward.

The 23-year-old bagged 19 goals and 11 assists across all competitions for Inter last season and would be a stellar addition to Spurs’ attack.

He has also been called ‘phenomenal’ by Serie A journalist Nima Tavallaey Roodsari for his movement, explosiveness, timing and technical ability (The Arsenal Review).

It remains to be seen who Spurs turn to as an alternative to Martinez, but however unlikely they are to sign him, at least Paratici hasn’t quite given up hope judging by this update.

O Santos renovou contrato com Rafael Longuine na tarde desta quarta-feira até maio de 2021. O vínculo do meia se encerrava no mês de maio.

O camisa 17 já mostrava vontade de permanecer no Peixe, apesar das sondagens de clubes da Série A. Rafael ressaltou a importância disso em seu atual momento – o atleta perdeu os pais e a tia em um acidente de carro – e diz estar vivendo um sonho.

– Isso representa muito para mim, é uma felicidade muito grande, por todo esse momento que venho passando em minha vida. Estou feliz de renovar por mais quatro anos com um grande clube, onde eu me sinto muito bem. Estou realizando mais um sonho. Espero conquistar muitos títulos aqui ainda – explicou.

Mesmo com a pouca sequência de jogos – o meia tem 44 jogos pelo Alvinegro e seis gols -, Rafael se sente importante para o elenco e reforça que o clube vai muito além de 11 jogadores.

Me sinto importante aqui. A comissão técnica conversa comigo, conversa com todos, e sempre passa a importância de cada um no elenco. كشفت تقارير صحفية عن قيمة العرض الأول من جانب نادي بشكتاش التركي، للتعاقد مع رمضان صبحي، من صفوف بيراميدز في نافذة الانتقالات الصيفية.

وكانت تقارير صحفية قد ذكرت قبل 3 أيام، أن بشكتاش حريص على التعاقد مع رمضان صبحي، من أجل تعزيز هجومه في الموسم القادم، والمنافسة على لقب الدوري التركي من جديد.

وحسب شبكة “أهابر” التركية، فإن بشكتاش يريد ضم رمضان صبحي في صفقة بيع نهائية من بيراميدز، وليس على سبيل الإعارة.

وقالت الشبكة إن بشكتاش في مفاوضات مُتقدمة مع بيراميدز، وعرض النادي التركي على نظيره المصري مبلغ قدره 2.5 مليون يورو لشراء رمضان صبحي، على أن يحصل وصيف الكونفدرالية بالموسم قبل الماضي على نسبة من البيع في المستقبل.

اهتمام بشكتاش بالتعاقد مع رمضان، يأتي بطلب من مدرب الفريق فاليريان إسماعيل، والذي يرى أن صاحب الـ25 عامًا سوف يُناسب خططه.

رمضان صبحي سبق وأن خاض أكثر من تجربة احتراف، ولكن مُنذ صيف عام 2020، يلعب في الدوري المصري، حيث ضمه بيراميدز من هدرسفيلد تاون مقابل 5 ملايين يورو.
