Como foi a partida?

O primeiro tempo de foi de poucas emoções no Maracanã, mas de ampla pressão alvinegra. Apesar da grande festa da torcida e ingressos esgotados, a atuação do Glorioso não foi de encher os olhos dos mais de 60 mil presentes. Mesmo com intensidade ofensiva do Botafogo, o Criciúma ‘fechou a casinha’ e apostou nos contra-ataques. Barboza foi destaque na etapa inicial. Almada e Luiz Henrique tiveram as melhores chances de abrir o placar, sem êxito.

Os dois times voltaram sem mudanças do intervalo, e, na segunda etapa, o mesmo filme da primeira. O Glorioso seguiu pressionando o Tigre, mas sem conseguir quebrar a linha de defesa dos visitantes. No meio da etapa final, Artur Jorge sacou Almada e Savarino e pôs Tiquinho Soares e Eduardo. As substituições deram resultado, e foi justamente o camisa 9 que abriu o placar no Maracanã. Mas a euforia alvinegra durou pouco tempo. Felipe Vizeu empatou quase em seguida, aproveitando a falha de Gregore.

Ainda havia tempo para mais emoção nos minutos finais de acréscimos. O Glorioso ainda chegou a marcar o segundo gol, no último lance, mas foi anulado por toque de mão.

O que vem por aí?

O Botafogo volta a campo na próxima quarta-feira (23), em partida de ida das semifinais da Libertadores, contra o Peñarol, no Nilton Santos. A bola rola a partir das 21h30m (de Brasília).

According to The Evening Standard’s David Lynch, Liverpool have turned down the chance to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner this summer due to two key reasons.

What did he say?

The Germany international has been linked with a move to Anfield for a number of months now, with recent reports indicating that Werner would be prepared to join Jurgen Klopp’s side should they meet his release clause.

But now, the forward looks set to join Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Chelsea, and Lynch has suggested that a couple of reasons played a part in them choosing not to make a move themselves.

He said: “With Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino set to stay put this summer, the Reds feel they would have been unable to offer the sort of regular game time the 24-year-old might expect.

“That famed front three have been virtually ever-present for Liverpool since first being assembled by Klopp ahead of the 2017-18 season. The German is believed to favour relying on his current crop of fringe players, including Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino, to back them up next term.”

Gamble

Make no mistake about it, Liverpool are taking a major gamble by not choosing to bring Werner to Anfield.

Not only are they missing out on someone who could provide them with extra firepower to ease the goal-scoring burden on the likes of Mane and Salah, but they are seeing him join one of their direct rivals.

It’s a double blow for Klopp, and whilst his trust in his back-up options like Origi and Minamino is admirable, it’s certainly a big ask for those two to come straight into the starting eleven and offer anything close to the kind of quality provided by Mane and co.

If next season doesn’t pan out in the way the Reds want, then this moment will surely be looked back on as a potentially decisive one.

Liverpool are said to have just 12 days left to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for his €55m (£49m) release clause according to Sky Sports.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Germany international over the past few weeks and months, with it even being said that Jurgen Klopp held a virtual meeting with the 24-year-old to convince him to join (BT Sport via The Daily Express).

Chelsea and Manchester United are said to have joined the race for his services as well (Sky Sports) and, with the release clause said to expire on June 15th, any sides wanting to sign him at this price have less than two weeks to complete a deal.

At this point, it is pretty obvious that Liverpool are very interested in Werner. Transfer rumours can often be tenuous at best, but there is no smoke without fire, and in Werner’s case there has been just too much talk for it to be pure speculation.

Quite frankly, if Liverpool are that interested in the forward, they should have secured a deal a long time ago. Now, they have put themselves in a difficult position. Whilst the expiration of the release clause does not mean that there is no hope of them taking him to Anfield, it does mean that Die Rotenbullen are in a far better position to command a higher transfer fee – and for a player that has scored 31 goals in all competitions this term, they could demand a far bigger sum.

FSG and Michael Edwards need to move quickly now if they are to get their man. Otherwise, their job may be about to get an awful lot harder.

Botafogo e Nottingham Forest estreitaram relações nas últimas janelas de transferências: o Alvinegro já havia negociado o goleiro John, o zagueiro Jair e o atacante Igor Jesus com os ingleses. Cuiabano, porém, só deve reencontrar os ex-companheiros no próximo ano. A parceria é proveniente da aproximação entre John Textor, dono da SAF botafoguense, e o grego Evangelos Marinakis, gestor do clube bicampeão da Champions League. Agora, Cuiabano é o novo reforço do Botafogo.

وقال برناردو سيلفا في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “بي بي سي” العالمية: “كانت لديهم فرصهم أيضًا، إنه فريق صعب للغاية للعب ضده، ليستر سيتي، بالنسبة لي، أحد أفضل الفرق في الدوري”.

وأضاف: “كان ينبغي أن نسجل قبل ذلك بقليل في الشوط الأول، ولكن حصلنا على النقاط الثلاث وفي مكان صعب للغاية، نحن سعداء للغاية بالفوز”.

وواصل: “أحاول دائمًا أن أبذل قصارى جهدي لمساعدة الفريق، واليوم كنت قادرًا على ذلك بهدف، لذلك أنا سعيد جدًا بذلك”.

وأردف: “نحن نعلم مدى جودتهم مع الكرة، نحن نعرف كيف يلعب هذا الفريق، لقد عانينا ضدهم في كأس الدرع الخيرية، حاولنا منعهم من الهجمات المرتدة، كان حارس مرمانا جيدًا للغاية اليوم بالنسبة لنا أيضًا، ثلاث نقاط والآن نمضي قدمًا”.

Former Sunderland man Ethan Robson is gaining plenty of interest after his contract came to an end at the Stadium of Light.

With the 2019/20 season abruptly ended for the Black Cats, a large number of first team players saw their contracts expire. Joining the likes of Jon McLaughlin and Tom Flanagan in running down their contracts was Robson, who joined the Wearsiders back in 2004 as a youngster.

Allowed to leave the club this summer, the 23-year-old midfielder ends a 16-year stint at the Stadium of Light in which he made a total of 14 first team appearances and 62 for the club’s under-23 side.

Spending part of the 2019/20 season on loan with League Two side Grimsby Town, Robson is now said to be gaining interest from a number of Sunderland’s League One rivals.

As per the Sunderland Echo, the 23-year-old has said upon his release earlier this week: “I’ve had a lot of interest. I think the big thing is going to be the restart date. When there’s officially a restart date I think there’ll be a lot more offers around.

“I’ve had some which is good, there are options. I’ve had interest from League One and League Two, and there are some teams in the Scottish Premier League who are interested.  It’s definitely exciting times. I want to cement my place in a team next season and push on.”

It seems mystifying that, having come all the way through the academy ranks to make the first team, Sunderland would not seek to keep Robson on board.

It is completely baffling that the club would not be willing to hand him a shot at first team football at the Stadium of Light, especially when Phil Parkinson is hastily trying to assemble a squad to finally get out of League One next season.

انتهى منذ قليل المؤتمر الصحفي الخاص بتقديم كارلوس كيروش المدير الفني الجديد لمنتخب مصر وجهازه المعاون بمقر اتحاد الكرة في الجبلاية.

وتولى كارلوس كيروش منصب مدرب منتخب مصر خلفًا لحسام البدري، بعد رحيل الأخير عقب تعادل الفراعنة مع الجابون بهدف لمثله، في الجولة الثانية من التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس العالم 2022.

ومن المتوقع أن يكون الظهور الأول لـ كيروش مع منتخب مصر، مع نهاية الشهر الجاري، 29 سبتمبر حيث سيخوض مباراة ودية ولكن لم يتحدد بعد هوية المنتخب الذي سيواجهه الفراعنة. تفاصيل مؤتمر كارلوس كيروش المدير الفني الجديد لمنتخب مصر

في البداية.. قال أحمد مجاهد: “من دواعي فخري وسروري تقديم أحد عظماء كرة القدم في العالم، مستر كارلوس كيروش، وكل المتواجدين في القاهرة يعملون من هو كيروش”.

وأضاف: “من اللازم شكر حسام البدري وجهاز الفني على الفترة الماضية وهذه مرحلة جديدة للكرة المصرية، أتمنى أن تكون مناسبة لتوقعات الجماهير المصرية بشكل عام”.

وأردف: “نحن في هذا العام نحتفل بمئوية اتحاد الكرة، ولذلك بقدر تطلعاتنا وطموحاتنا، قدمنا اسم يليق بهذه التطلعات، وأرحب بكل الجهاز المعاون، ضياء السيد ووائل جمعة وعصام الحضري ومحمد شوقي ومُساعديه الأجانب”.

وأشار: “الفترة قصيرة نعم –يقصد فترة التحضير- ولكن ثقتنا كاملة في خبرات كيروش، ونطلب من الجميع الهدوء والاستقرار وإعطاء الفرصة للجهاز الفني”.

وأتم: “أشكر فينجادا، كان سببا سريعا في التواصل المباشر مع كيروش، لم يتدخل أي طرف من أي جهة في الحوار، والحوار كان مباشرًا بين الاتحاد وكيروش”.

وبدأ كيروش حديثه وقال: “الجهاز المعاون لي استثنائي، تحدثت معهم ومتفائل بالمرحلة المقبلة، واسمحوا لي أن اعتبر نفسي مصريًا وأعطي كل خبراتي لمصر للوصول لكأس العالم”.

وأوضح: “مصر اسم كبير في عالم كرة القدم، 3 مرات وصول للمونديال، و7 بطولات كأس أمم إفريقيا، وأنا تعلمت من التاريخ المصري أن نأخذ الخبرات ونعمل لتكون حياتنا أفضل”.

واستطرد: “هذا ليس وقت الحديث الكثير ولكنه وقت العمل، وأمامنا كلنا حلم واحد نعمل عليه، ويجب أن نكون على (دقة قلب واحدة) الـ105 لـ110 مليون مصري لازم يكونوا على قلب واحد لتحقيق أهدافنا”.

واسترسل: “لدي كلمة للاعبين، حياتي كلها ستكون لكم ولمنتخب مصر، هدفي أن أجعلكم أفضل وأفضل، وتكونوا أفضل فريق من أجل تحقيق شكل أفضل في الملعب، ونحقق أحلام المصريين”.

سؤال، ماذا تعرف عن سيكولوجية اللاعب المصري؟، أجاب: “أعرف أن اللاعب المصري يحب المكسب والفوز”.

هناك فوارق كبيرة بين مصر وليبيا، فلماذا نخشى ليبيا؟، رد: “لابد أن نثبت هذه الفوارق على أرض الملعب، نجن لا نخاف ولا نخشى أحد؛ ولكن التركيز علينا نحن، منتخب مصر”.

مباراة الإياب أمام ليبيا ستُلعب على عُشب صناعي، هل ستُمثل لك صعوبة؟، أجاب: “حتى إذا لعبنا على أرض رملية، هدفنا المكسب ذهابا وإيابا”.

كيف ترى تجربتك مع منتخب مصر؟، قال: “المهم بالنسبة لي هي المباراة القادمة، التاريخ يجعلني فخور بمنتخب مصر؛ ولكن التاريخ لا يعني أن مصر ستفوز على ليبيا، لابد من القتال على أرض الملعب، ونحن نلعب من أجل الجمهور”.

Newcastle United are set to rival Manchester United for the signing of Federico Chiesa in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to La Nazione (via Sport Witness).

As per the outlet, the Fiorentina ace may move away from Italy for a fee of at least €60m, which equates to around £53.7m.

However, there is not yet an indication as to just how much the Tyneside club are willing to put on the table, but La Nazione believe that they will overtake the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus for his signature.

This is pending the proposed takeover in the northeast, though, as the Premier League are yet to approve of the £300m deal between Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabian-led group.

Chiesa is enjoying a relatively impressive 2019/20 season so far, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 30 games in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).

Comparing the Fiorentina winger to the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Christian Atsu and Matt Ritchie in their respective domestic leagues so far in this campaign, Chiesa has netted the most strikes as well as averaging more shots in Serie A (per Whoscored).

The 22-year old could prove to be a valuable addition at St James’ Park if he moves to Newcastle and can replicate his Serie A form in English football, but the potentially extortionate price tag would arguably put a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

Nevertheless, if the Magpies can beat the likes of Manchester United, Inter and Juventus for his services, then it promises to be a real coup for the Toon Army.
