It feels like the transfer all Liverpool fans are waiting to hear about is the club’s reported move for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz.
The Premier League champions are yet to officially confirm that they have agreed a deal to sign the Germany international, but they are reportedly close to doing so.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Wirtz is set to travel to England for his medical tests after he returns from his summer holiday, although it remains unclear as to exactly when that will be.
The reporter claims that Leverkusen and Liverpool have ‘sealed’ all documents for the transfer of the German midfield maestro, and that it is now a case of waiting for him to complete his medical tests before they can announce the deal.
This comes after Romano reported earlier this month that Arne Slot’s side have agreed a mammoth deal worth up to £127m, including add-ons, for the 22-year-old star.
Wirtz, who delivered 16 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for Leverkusen during the 2024/25 campaign, is set to become the club’s most-expensive signing of all time, eclipsing the £85m that they paid Benfica for Darwin Nunez in 2022.

We are also focusing on the red-ball stuff, and I think they are aware and they are ready and raring to go in the multi-day format. However, the same can’t be said for Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo, with a deal seemingly heading in the right direction, according to talkSPORT’s latest update.
They claim that the Red Devils have made a second offer in the region of £60m for the 25-year-old, who scored 20 league goals for Brentford throughout 2024/25.
It also states that talks have accelerated with the attacker, who’s already agreed personal terms over a move to join Amorim’s side, but it doesn’t mention if the latest offer is expected to be accepted.
Why United’s £60m target would be a better signing than Nkunku
Despite the latest bid to sign Mbeumo this window, United have entered the race to sign Chelsea outcast Christopher Nkunku, looking as one of the main sides in the running for his signature.
It’s been reported that the Red Devils have approached the 27-year-old’s representatives over a move to join the club after starting just nine league games this season.
The player himself is said to be keen on a move away from Stamford Bridge, after failing to nail down a regular starting role following his £52m move to the Blues two years ago.
Nkunku is a versatile option, being able to operate in either the number ten position or as a centre forward, potentially handing Amorim the depth he craves in attacking areas.
However, it’s unclear how much Enzo Maresca’s side would demand for his signature, with Mbeumo a massively better option when comparing their respective figures from 2024/25.
The Brentford star has massively outperformed the French talent in numerous key areas, highlighting why he’d be a better choice for the Red Devils in the coming weeks.
Mbeumo, who’s been labelled “sensational” by Sky Sports’ Mark McAdam, has massively outscored Nkunku and registered a higher goal per shot on target rate, subsequently demonstrating his clinical edge in front of goal.

The Cameroonian’s dominance is further reflected in his take-on success and carries into the final third, able to get himself into key areas which has bolstered his respective tallies.
Whilst £60m may appear to be a hefty investment in a player who’s off the back of one impressive season, the chance to play alongside more top-level talents will certainly help him sustain such success.
Nkunku would provide an experienced option within the final third, but if the club have to choose one option between the pair, it’s evident that Mbeumo would be the option to improve the club’s chances of success in the future.

Graham Potter has some work to do to inspire his team to improve after Julen Lopetegui’s project fell flat, and the Hammers’ obligation to buy Jean-Clair Todibo has become active for £36m. When it comes to fresh faces, left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf has arrived from Slavia Prague, Mads Hermansen from Leicester City and Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson join after leaving Southampton and Newcastle.

أوديجارد أصيب خلال شوط اللقاء الأول بين آرسنال ونوتينجهام فورست، في الدقائق الأولى من المباراة، حيث خرج من أرضية الملعب وحل محله إيثان نوانيري.
واستطاع آرسنال أن يتفوق على نوتينجهام فورست بثلاثة أهداف دون رد، ليعوض الجانرز هزيمته في الجولة الثالثة أمام ليفربول، بهدف دون رد.

وقال أرتيتا في تصريحات نقلتها “بي بي سي سبورت”: ”نعم، إصابة أوديجارد في الكتف ومشابهة جدًا للإصابة السابقة، لا أعرف إن كانت في نفس الوضع تمامًا، لكنها إصابة مشابهة جدًا، لم يكن مرتاحًا للاستمرار فقد لعب مباراتين مع النرويج وللأسف لا يستطيع الاستمرار اليوم، لذا علينا تقييم حالته مع الأطباء، لكنني متأكد من أنه سيبذل قصارى جهده ليكون لائقًا لمباراة الثلاثاء”.
وأضاف أرتيتا في حديثه عن إصابة أوديجارد: ”في المرة الأخيرة التي أصيب فيها أوديجارد خلال بضعة أيام، تمكن من التعامل مع الألم خاصةً وأن الإصابة لم تكن بهذا السوء، أتمنى ألا تكون الإصابة خطيرة”.
وعن ظهور قوة تشكيلة آرسنال مع إصابة أوديجارد والفوز اختتم ميكيل: ”نعم، لأنه لو لم نفعل ذلك وكما ذكرت مع الإصابات التي نعاني منها، والتي يصعب السيطرة على بعضها للأسف، لكننا في وضع مختلف تمامًا، كنا نعلم أن هذا هو المعيار وهو معيار الفرق الأخرى في الدوري الأوروبي ويمكنك رؤية ذلك، أنا سعيد جدًا لأن تشكيلة الفريق تمنحنا خيارات وتمنحنا القدرة على تغيير مسار المباريات وتمنحنا القدرة على التواجد في الفريق، والآن علينا التأكد من أن الجميع يشعر بالترابط والأهمية”.

India left-arm spinner Radha Yadav needed assistance during the flooding in Vadodara in Gujarat and has thanked the National Disaster Response Force for coming to her aid.”We were stuck in a very bad situation. Thank you so much NDRF for rescuing us,” Yadav posted on Instagram on Wednesday night.The video in her post shows the surrounding areas submerged in water and rescue personnel approaching on a raft. People can also be seen wading through chest-high water.Several areas in Gujarat have been affected by floods in recent days. As per reports on Thursday, 28 people had died and nearly 18,000 had to be relocated to safe areas because of rain and flood-related incidents.Yadav is a part of India’s 15-member squad for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup , which begins on October 3. India are grouped with defending champions Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and New Zealand, and play their opening game against New Zealand on October 4.Yadav was last in action in the women’s Asia Cup, where she took a three-wicket haul in the semi-final against Bangladesh.Yadav has played 80 T20Is for India, returning 90 wickets. Her appearances have been more limited in ODIs, with one wicket from four matches.
