Manchester City have now been quoted an asking price of over £100m for an “incredible” forward who they hold a concrete interest in, according to a report.

City set for summer rebuild

Pep Guardiola made a splash in the January transfer window, bringing in the likes of Abdukodir Khusanov, Nico Gonzalez and Omar Marmoush to refresh his underperforming squad, and there could well be a few more additions in the summer.

City seem particularly keen to bolster their attacking options, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo one of the most recent forwards to emerge as a target, and they have now held talks with the Brazilian’s father ahead of a potential move.

Another attacker on the shortlist is Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, who is expected to cost over £100m, while the Sky Blues also hold a concrete interest in Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, with the Southampton winger valued at around £55m up until now.

However, according to a report from The Telegraph, the Saints are now looking to hold out for over £100m for Dibling, who they believe is one of the best youngsters in England, meaning they are willing to take a hardline stance.

With Southampton almost certain to be relegated from the Premier League, it is becoming increasingly likely the forward departs, and he is set to be one of the most sought-after players in the summer market.

Alongside City, Tottenham Hotspur view the 19-year-old as a serious target, while there is also interest from Manchester United, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich, who have watched him in action on numerous occasions this season.

"Incredible" Dibling showing promising signs at Southampton

It would be fair to say the youngster’s emergence as a first-team regular is one of the only positives Southampton can take from this season, given that his performances mean they could be in line to receive a sizeable fee this summer.

However, there are major doubts over whether a sum of over £100m is justifiable, given that the teenager has picked up just two goals and zero assists in the Premier League, albeit in a very poor side.

That said, there have been signs of promise, with Southampton reporter Alfie House describing the starlet as “incredible” earlier in the season, while Statman Dave lauded him as a “wonderkid” after a remarkable performance against Ipswich Town.

Dibling is clearly a very talented young player, but he is yet to justify a £100m outlay, and Man City should initially test the waters with a lower offer, given that Southampton are unlikely to be in a strong negotiating position if, or perhaps when, they are relegated.

Katie Levick took five wickets as Northern Diamonds continued their perfect start to the Charlotte Edwards Cup and remain on course for Finals Day after a 35-run win over Sunrisers at Headingley.Leah Dobson’s 47 and late firepower from Bess Heath lifted the hosts to a total of 172 for 7, which always appeared a tough ask for a Sunrisers side who had lost their first three matches. A superb bowling display from Diamonds – led by Levick’s 5 for 19 – ensured Sunrisers fell well short and remain bottom of the standings.Having won the toss and chosen to bat, the in-form Diamonds made a strong start to their innings. Lauren Winfield-Hill crunched two fours in the opening over as the experienced opener looked to set the pace. She had moved to 19 from 13 balls before lofting Kelly Castle straight to Abtaha Maqsood.Holly Armitage, fresh off back-to-back career-best scores of 74 and 82, got her innings under way with another glorious four before opener Dobson struck four boundaries in a row to push Diamonds on to 48 for 1 at the end of the powerplay. O São Paulo tem direito a 20% do lucro dos holandeses com a venda. O Ajax pagou aproximadamente 16 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 81,4 milhões pela cotação atual) ao Tricolor pelo atacante.

O clube do Morumbi também tem a receber 2,7% da negociação como formador de Antony.

De acordo com apurações levantadas pelo LANCE!,o São Paulo se prepara para quitar os cerca de R$ 30 milhões em dívidas que possui com o atual elenco.O montante engloba desde os quatro meses de direito de imagem atrasados até débitos antigos, como premiações pelo título do Campeonato Paulista de 2021 e bônus pelas classificações às semifinais da Copa do Brasil e Sul-Americana.

É o segundo jogador contratado pelo United a render lucros ao São Paulo. O primeiro foi Casemiro, que deixou trocou o Real Madrid pelos Diabos Vermelhos por 72 milhões de euros (aproximadamente R$ 373,9 milhões). Caso o volante atinja algumas metas estabelecidas, o montante do negócio pode subir para 13 milhões de euros em bônus (cerca de R$ 67,4 milhões).

Como clube formador do jogador, o Tricolor tem direito a 3,5% do valor pelo mecanismo de solidariedade. Ou seja, deverá abocanhar aproximadamente R$ 13 milhões. Bolada superior a que ganhou pela classificação ante o América-MG nas quartas de final da Copa do Brasil – R$ 8 milhões.

Até agora, com as saídas desta janela (Gabriel Sara, Lucas Perri, Rigoni) somadas as que aconteceram durante o primeiro semestre, o São Paulo acumula aproximadamente R$ 128 milhões em vendas. A meta de R$ 142 milhões em negociações no balanço financeiro é vista como uma forma de manter as contas equilibradas, já que a dívida do Tricolor beira os R$ 700 milhões.

Following Netherlands’ stunning run to the 2023 Men’s World Cup, there are calls from both the Dutch and the ICC for a continuance of the World Cup Super League (WCSL) in some form. The world’s top 13 ODI sides featured in the first edition of the WCSL, which gave Associate teams such as Netherlands the chance to pit themselves against top opposition regularly. Netherlands’ performance in the World Cup Qualifier, as also those of other Associate teams, notably Scotland, has been seen as proof of the WCSL having made these sides more battle-hardened.”I don’t think there is any doubt that the Super League was hugely helpful in terms of a pathway to Associate countries,” Greg Barclay, the ICC chairman, said at a press conference in Harare on Friday. “The fact that you are seeing some of the performances from the Associate members over here, in large part, was due to the fact that they have had the experience of playing teams ranked above where they are.Related

It’s no secret that T20 is in a pretty good place, Test cricket has had a shot in the arm [with the World Test Championship] but maybe we’ve lost our way a little bit in the 50-over format. We need to address both context and relevance and the experience around that. Is that a re-creation of the Super League or something equivalent? I don’t know but I suspect that the answer to that will be yes. We need to do something.”As things stand, the WCSL will not be played during the 2023-2027 ODI cycle, with the participants for the 2027 World Cup to be decided based on rankings. This means there is no imperative for teams to play a set number of ODIs in the next four years (the World Cup Super League made provision for 24 ODIs, in eight series of three matches each), Associate teams are not guaranteed 50-overs cricket against Full Members, which has increased the volume of questions surrounding the relevance of bilateral ODI cricket, which the ICC acknowledges.”We need to make sure one-day cricket continues to have a following,” Barclay said. “It’s running the risk at the moment of having a lot of irrelevancy in terms of the bilateral arrangements that are made.”But how this will be fixed remains unclear. From the information ESPNcricinfo has to date, the Super League is not on the agenda at the ICC’s AGM, which will take place next week, even though the Associate boards will be present and eager to discuss the way forward. Barclay, too, believes that they have a case, especially after the Netherlands’ Qualifier success. “If we accept that we are keeping all three forms of the game then we have got to give the next tier of countries, mainly those high-performing Associates, the opportunity to make sure that they then perform at the top table when they are performing at world events,” he said. “We’ve got 14 teams [qualifying for the World Cup] in the next cycle, so we’ve got to make sure they are competitive and prepared when they get to those events.”A case in point are the Dutch themselves, who, had they not qualified for the World Cup, would have had no fixtures scheduled from the end of the Qualifier until the start of the new World Cup Cricket League 2 next February. Their success at last year’s T20 World Cup, where they advanced to the Super 12s and finished fourth in their six-team group, means they do not have to play in the European Qualifiers for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Opening batter Max O’Dowd described Netherlands as “gutted” at the discontinuance of the WCSL. “It’s just the tough reality that we live in as Associate teams,” he said. “I don’t like the word Associate but us, in that boat, we just don’t get the same cricket. We’re all extremely gutted that the Super League is gone because you can see where we’ve come from to where we are now.”Netherlands won only three of their 24 Super League matches (two against Ireland, who finished 11th, and one over Zimbabwe, who were 12th) and ended the WCSL in last place. But the value they took from playing against Full Members informed how they went about this Qualifier – particularly their approach against spin – and taught them how to build winning habits.”The playing experience was massive. If we didn’t play that Super League, we wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are,” O’Dowd said. “We were in situations so many times where we actually should have won games and then, we created a culture where we gave ourselves permission to win these games. In the past, we were quite happy just getting close against big sides. And now, we know that if we are in a winning position, we should be winning. It doesn’t matter who you’re playing against. That’s been massive for us. The Super League has boosted so many guys’ confidence.”The game against West Indies in June 2022 is one example. Netherlands were 164 for 1 in the 30th over, chasing 309, and lost 9 for 124 to fall short by 20 runs. They were particularly conservative against Akeal Hosein and Hayden Walsh in that game; they rethought their strategy against spin shortly afterwards. Since then, they have developed confidence in their sweep shots, and memorably beat West Indies in this Qualifier.Now, Netherlands will have the opportunity to play against nine other Full Members at the World Cup albeit without knowing when their next chance to play against them will be. Asked what they hope their journey to India will offer other Associates, O’Dowd hoped it could serve as an example that the game should continue growing.”It shows the strength of Associate cricket. The gap between Associate cricket and Full Member nations is dwindling. Three Full Members have missed out on the World Cup,” he said. “I don’t want to sit here and say to other Associates to work harder and all that kind of stuff because I feel that’s a bit degrading. These guys are quality and they know what they need to do to win games. I just hope they can take a bit of inspiration from what we’ve been able to achieve and hopefully going forward, they can do the same.”

Dan Lawrence hammered the highest score of the Men’s Hundred so far and set up London Spirit’s first victory of the competition as they scraped past holders Trent Rockets by two runs in a tense finish at Lord’s.The Spirit captain hit 93 from 49 balls, including an impressive 10 fours and three sixes as the home side amassed 195 for 4, their best ever total in the tournament, after being put in to bat.Joe Root, who hit an unbeaten 72 from 35, almost pulled off an astonishing late fightback with some big hitting, as Daniel Sams struck a flurry of boundaries to leave the Rockets needing 13 off the last five balls. But Spirit seamer Nathan Ellis kept his cool to dismiss Sams for 32 from 11 as the visitors fell just short on 193 for 5.Having won the toss, Rockets decided to field and although Sam Cook struck with his first ball by having Adam Rossington caught at long-off, Zak Crawley gave Spirit a blistering start as they raced to 47 for 1 in the powerplay.Crawley produced a number of powerful shots, including the first six of the game as he deposited Sams over deep square leg. Lawrence also cleared the rope with six off Ish Sodhi, but the legspinner then made the breakthrough as Crawley was taken at long-off for 30 from 15. وأضاف: “يجب أن نحسن من جوانب لعبنا ولا تزال هناك كثير من الإيجابيات، كانت لنا لحظات رائعة في الشوط الأول خاصة مع الكرة وصنعنا فرصًا جيدة، نجوموها كان جيدًا، نحن نخطو خطوات متقدمة ويجب أن نواصل تحسين لياقتنا البدنية ولا يزال أمامنا مباراتين أو ثلاث قبل كأس الدرع الخيرية وسنبذل قصارى جهدنا”.

وحول الصفقات الجديدة: “من المهم أن تشعر بالترحيب في ليفربول وأن تشعر بالراحة لإظهار قدراتها، انضممت للنادي وساعدتني البيئة هنا على إظهار قدراتي، هذا ما يريده الجميع وقد أظهر الجميع قدراتهم اليوم وسيكون هناك المزيد في المستقبل، لكن اللاعبين الكبار في الفريق مثلي لديهم دور في هذا الجانب وسنكون جميعاً معاً”.

وأتم حول معسكر هونج كونج: “وصولنا كلاعبين إلى هنا كان رائعًا، يتيح لنا فرصة تعلم ثقافة مختلفة ورؤية أشياء متنوعة لم أرها من قبل، لم أزر هونج كونج من قبل وكان الأمر إيجابي للغاية وتعرفنا على كل شيء”.

واختتم عن أصعب ما واجهه في المعسكر: “الملاعب كانت معقدة بعض الشيء، تحضير الملعب اليوم كان على الأرجح الأفضل، لكن هذا هو الشيء الوحيد الذي أرى أنه بحاجة لبعض التحسن، الملعب رائع ومن الواضح أن تكييف الهواء ساعد كثيراً، أنت تريد أن تكون لائقاً في الفترة التحضيرية، والمناخ الدافئ ساعدنا بالتأكيد وقد استمتعت بوقتي هنا ودعونا نرى ما إذا كنا سنعود في المستقبل”.
