Thabang Moroe, Cricket South Africa’s former CEO, was found to have breached the Companies’ Act several times, bringing the organisation into disrepute and failing to act in its best interests, according to a forensic report, the summary of which was made public on Monday morning. The report also listed incidents in which CSA’s acting president Beresford Williams, the entire CSA board and former independent board member Iqbal Khan were in contravention of the Act.The full report remains under restricted access with CSA’s lawyers, Bowman’s, and anyone who wants to view is required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). That includes members of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), the umbrella body under which all sports federations in the country operate. SASCOC has demanded to see the full report and that CSA’s board and executive step aside while it conducts an investigation into CSA’s administrative and legal affairs. CSA’s refusal to grant SASCOC’s requests had them referred to the country’s sports’ ministry last week and could still result in further action.Sports minister Nathi Mthethwa met with CSA last week and gave them until Tuesday to comply with SASCOC. CSA is also scheduled to appear before the parliamentary portfolio committee for sport, art and culture tomorrow, and the forensic report is expected to be among the main topics of discussion.Moroe was also found to have not kept CSA’s board informed of developments at the Western Province and North West unions, the two affiliates with which CSA exercised step-in rights, including the dissolution of the provincial boards. In the Western Province case, Williams and Khan were both found to have had a conflict of interest by being present at a meeting in which CSA approved a loan to Western Province, thereby contravening the Companies’ Act.The most serious findings against Moroe relate to finances. He used his CSA credit card for irregular purchases of alcohol to the value of R64,830.50 (USD 3,952 approx), and acquired the services of a company (listed only as Service Provider X) for R3,019,244.82 (USD 183,068 approx) without following procurement procedures. The report also found that no service from that company was delivered to CSA, and oversaw a commercial deal with Global Sports Commerce (GSC) for the MSL, which resulted in major financial losses for CSA. While no details are available in the summary of the report about Service Provider X or the kind of service it was due to provide to CSA, more is known about GSC.ALSO READ: CSA, SASCOC at impasse over forensic report disclosure disagreementThe company is headquartered in Singapore and has offices in Johannesburg and it is the official broadcast and commercial partner for the MSL, which means that it was part of GSC’s job to on-sell television rights for the MSL. A due diligence report was not presented to CSA’s board on GSC, and Moroe and former chief operating officer Naasei Appiah (who has been dismissed and is appealing) had also failed to obtain a bank guarantee from GSC. CSA’s board approved the agreement with GSC without the due diligence report and has been found to be in breach of their fiduciary duties while the agreement with GSC led to losses of R12,370,691 (USD 754,135 approx) over the 2019 MSL season. Moroe was found to have failed to “act with the degree of care, skill and diligence that may be reasonably expected of a person carrying out,” his function (that of CEO) in relation to the deal. CSA also entered into a production agreement with GSC, which was initially only for the inaugural edition of the MSL but was renewed for four more years.The process of securing that deal was also improperly conducted, according to the report, thereby adding to Moroe’s contraventions.CSA has not been able to “investigate, corroborate or clarify in its totality” the report as yet, according to a statement by John Mogodi, a non-independent director on CSA’s board. “While we are not claiming the report to be inaccurate, it is important to understand that the forensic analysis is a single-sided report, and not all of the individuals or parties mentioned, have had the opportunity to provide responses to the findings as yet,” Mogodi’s statement read. That indicates CSA may yet conduct further enquiries before acting on the report.However, CSA decided to release the summary of the report following weeks of pressure. The board said of its decision to release the summary of the report: “[Following] requests from the Ministry of Sports, Art and Culture, South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), members of the media, and concerns from sponsors and employees about the contents of the Fundudzi Forensic Report, CSA has, with legal counsel, decided to make a summary forensic report available to all stakeholders, including cricket-loving members of the public, via the media and other distribution channels.”

Forget the Euros, it's transfer season!

It's that time of the year that can spring up some genuinely surprising moves and some mind-bogglingly expensive ones to boot, and it looks like Tottenham Hotspur are ready to spend big.

According to recent reports, Daniel Levy and Co have planned talks to land a Premier League star who would become the club's record signing and be unreal next to Son Heung-min.

According to a recent report from Football Transfers, Tottenham are very interested in bringing Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze to North London this summer.

In fact, the report has revealed that the Lilywhites are set to have talks at the end of the week over the potential signing and that the player's camp expects that if his asking price of around £60m is met, the South Londoners will let him join Ange Postecoglou's revolution in N17.

This deal would require the club to smash their current transfer record, which is £55m for Tanguy Ndombele in 2019 – his output didn't see the add-ons activated – but with Eze open to the transfer, Levy and Co must do what they can to make it happen.

His performances for Palace last season were spectacular, and his inclusion in a Spurs team could help Son reach new levels.

Why Eze would be a great signing for Spurs

There are a few reasons why the four-capped England international would be a quality addition to Postecoglou's team and the first is his versatility.

In 260 games, the 25-year-old has started in attacking and central midfield, left and right midfield, on both wings and even as a defensive midfielder and a centre-forward – talk about a utility player.

However, were he to move to N17 this summer, he'd likely play most of his games in midfield or occasionally out on the left, and could therefore form a brilliant partnership with club captain, Son.

The South Korean returned a staggering 27 goals and assists in 36 games last season from the left-wing and striker positions, and he did so while the team's most efficient midfielder, James Maddison, could only manage four goals and ten assists.

This is where the Palace ace comes in, as in 31 games – one more than Maddison – he managed a tally of 11 goals and six assists, meaning he averaged a goal involvement every 1.8 games to the former Leicester City ace's average of every 2.3 matches.

Now, the "beautiful" Eagles attacker, as England manager Gareth Southgate dubbed him, may not always start ahead of the Lilywhites co-vice-captain, but he'd provide genuine competition in that number ten role, and his versatility means he could step in for Son when he needs rest on the left.

Ultimately, breaking the club's transfer record to bring in a player is nothing to take lightly, but Eze has been incredible for Palace over the years, and he could be even better alongside Son at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

One of the most underrated academy systems in English football is Aston Villa’s academy. In the Premier League era, they have produced some impressive players, who have gone on to achieve some great things in the game. Three of their academy products have notably had esteemed Premier League careers, both at Villa Park and for other clubs.

Perhaps the most famous name to have been produced by Villa is Jack Grealish. He developed a reputation in the Midlands as one of the Premier League’s best players, after helping them get promoted from the Championship. He since left Villa Park for a British record £100m fee for Manchester City, where he ended up winning the treble.

Another legendary name to come from the Villans’ academy is Gareth Barry. His 653 appearances in the Premier League are the most by any player in the history of the competition, and as well as representing Villa, he played for Man City, West Brom and Everton.

Two-time Premier League winner with Chelsea Gary Cahill also came through at Villa but played just 31 times before departing to join Bolton. Now, with the transfer window here, another exciting Villa academy product could be on his way out to join a top-flight rival.

Villa could lose academy product

The player in question here is Villa academy graduate Jacob Ramsey. The 23-yeard-old midfielder has been an important player for Villa since breaking into the senior team but could leave the club this summer to join a Premier League rival.

At least, that is according to a report from The Standard. They explain that Spurs have 'tracked' Ramsey this summer, as they look to bring in a homegrown midfielder, add to the depth to their midfield options and push themselves further up the table.

Aside from Ramsey, the other main name on Spurs’ list is Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher. The England international could depart Stamford Bridge, although Spurs’ interest in the 24-year-old is 'expected to cool' after the deadline for the profit and sustainability rules has expired, meaning Chelsea do not necessarily need to sell.

Whilst a deal for Ramsey is not guaranteed, it does seem like something Spurs could pursue. A price has not been named, but Spurs would offer attacking midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso as part of the deal. According to Football Transfers, Ramsey is valued at £22m, so a deal valued at that price or more, plus Lo Celso, could be on the cards.

Why Ramsey’s departure would be as bad as Grealish leaving

Should Villa allow Ramsey to leave the club this summer, it could be as bad as when Grealish departed Villa Park. The season after the talismanic attacker left Villa Park, they went into a lull, and did not have the best season after his departure; the Villans finished 14th in the 2021/22 season.

However, what would really make the departure of Ramsey a frustrating deal for Villa is the loss of another exciting academy player. As football analyst H called him, the young midfielder is "underrated" amongst Premier League players. With Grealish, his departure was inevitable, given he wanted to expand his footballing horizons and try to win trophies.

Now, however, Villa are in a different situation, competing in the Champions League next season, and with a real chance of winning a domestic cup. At the age of just 23, Ramsey has many years left at the top, and he could leave in the future if he does not feel he can win anything at Villa. To lose such a big academy star again would be a huge blow for the Villans.

Ramsey’s Premier League record for Villa is certainly similar to the numbers that Grealish put up for his boyhood club. He has been a crucial player under Unai Emery, although did struggle with injuries last season.

Given his valuable role at Villa under Emery, and when factoring in his age, it perhaps does not make sense for Ramsey to leave Villa Park for pastures anew at this stage of his career. Not only that, Spurs might not be paying much money for the 23-year-old, and there is often extra value behind academy players.

It certainly seems to make sense for Villa to keep hold of the young Englishman if he wants to stay at the club. They do not want to repeat the mistake they made in selling Grealish, and whilst they got £100m to reinvest in the squad, they could have kept him at the club to spearhead the next project. Perhaps we will see Villa make the same mistake with Ramsey this summer.

Celtic are set to finally replace Joe Hart between the sticks at Parkhead this summer as Kasper Schmeichel is poised to arrive on a free transfer.

The veteran Denmark international will undergo his medical tests this week before putting pen to paper on a deal with the Scottish Premiership giants, to become their new number one.

Hart retired from professional football at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, after three seasons in Glasgow, and the former Leicester City ace looks to be his replacement.

However, he is not the long-term solution in that position as Schmeichel turns 38 later this year and is almost a year older than the ex-England international, which may be why the Bhoys are reportedly looking to add another shot-stopper to their ranks.

Celtic closing in on Premier League prospect

According to the Scottish Sun, the Hoops are closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo to compete with the Danish colossus.

The report claims that Brendan Rodgers wants another stopper to come in with a view to the future of the position, as Schmeichel is in the latter stages of his career, and the Villans youngster now looks set to come in.

It states that the two clubs are negotiating a fee for the 22-year-old prospect and that the player is 'poised' to complete a move to Parkhead on a permanent deal.

Sinisalo, who spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Exeter, could now repeat the success Matt O'Riley had at transitioning from League One football over to the Premiership.

Why Sinisalo could repeat O'Riley's success

The Danish midfielder had produced seven goals and five assists in 26 outings for MK Dons in the first half of the 2021/22 season before Celtic snapped him in the January window.

He hit the ground running with a return of four goals and three assists in ten Premiership starts in the second half of that term, and has gone on to be a huge player for the club.

O'Riley produced 18 goals and 13 assists in the league last season and is now reportedly valued at £25m by the Hoops, which shows that he successfully transitioned from being a League One player to being a star for Celtic.

Sinisalo, who was tipped for an "incredible" career by manager Gary Caldwell this year, could now follow in his footsteps after his impressive performances in the third tier of English football on loan with Exeter last term.

ويرى ريال مدريد غريمه إنه لا يجب إغراقه أكثر في المشاكل عكس أتلتيكو مدريد وأتلتيك بلباو اللذان طالبا بعدم تسجيل أولمو أو باو فيكتور لأن برشلونة لا يملك ضمانات مالية.

الموقف في ريال مدريد أن يتركوا برشلونة في سلام، لأنهما شريكان وليسا منافسين في المقام الأول، والخلافات أصبحت من الماضي وحتى أن استخدام النادي الكتالوني للرافعات لحل أزمته المالية لم يتطرق الملكي له من قريب أو بعيد.

ما يفعله أتلتيكو مدريد وأتلتيك بلباو وإشبيلية ضد برشلونة لن ينساه المسئولون وهو ما تحدث عنه رئيس النادي الكتالوني، خوان جاسبارات، وقال: “سيكون من الصعب أن ننسى ما فعلوه”.

السبب الأهم لدى ريال مدريد للصمت على أزمة برشلونة الأخيرة هي بطولة دوري السوبر الأوروبي، حيث لا تزال هناك علاقة جيدة بين فلورنتينو بيريز وخوان لابورتا بالفعل، وكلاهما يرى أن المسابقة هي مستقبل كرة القدم في السنوات المقبلة حتى مع انسحاب العديد من الأندية خاصة الإنجليزية.

وهو ما حدث أيضًا في قضية “نيجريرا” حيث لم يتحدث ريال مدريد كثيرًا حول القضية رغم محاولات عضو الجمعية العمومية، خوسيه لويس مونديجار، بقطع العلاقات مع برشلونة.

لكن بيريز كان واضحًا تمامًا، أن برشلونة هو أحد أعظم الأندية في العالم، لماذا نغضب بشأن تلك القضية؟ خاصة وأن كلا الناديين بحاجة إلى بعضهما البعض.

وهو ما يحدث فعلا في قضايا أخرى مثل صندوق الاستثمار ورفضه من قبل لابورتا وهو نفس رأي بيريز الذي يأمل في خروج دوري السوبر الأوروبي إلى النور في وجود برشلونة.
