Smriti Mandhana has been ruled out of the ODI series against South Africa women after fracturing her right toe.A BCCI spokesperson confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that the opening batsman had picked up the injury when she was struck by a ball while batting in the nets. Pooja Vastrakar, the 20-year-old seam-bowling allrounder, has been added to the team as replacement. Mandhana is now being monitored by the BCCI’s medical team and it is unclear if she will be fit in time to play India’s next series. “It’s a mild fracture,” coach WV Raman said in a press conference, along with ODI captain Mithali Raj, on Tuesday. “The call [on Mandhana’s return] will be taken based on the assessment of the physios at the NCA [National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru]. It’s difficult to fix the timeline either way because she still needs to get an MRI done because there is some swelling and it has to die down for the MRI to be taken. Once that’s done, only then the assessment can be made.”Raj chose to look at the positive side, saying the opener’s absence will create opportunities for other players. “She [Mandhana] is an experienced player,” Raj said. “But other players, like Priya Punia, have scored a lot of runs in the domestic games. It hasn't been the best of seasons for Manchester United this year, as for every brilliant win, there has been an equally dismal defeat.

So far, the 18-year-old prodigy has made 20 appearances for the first team this season, 17 of which have been starts, and scored two goals, primarily from a defensive midfield position.
The most remarkable thing about the 5 foot 9 gem isn't his technical ability – as impressive as it is – it's his composure, as nothing seems to phase him, so much so that he has often looked like the senior central midfielder this season, showing up the likes of Casemiro and Scott McTominay.

It was a return that earned him a place in Lille's first team for the following season, where he made 30 appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists. However, he only made 16 starts and spent most of the season playing as a left-sided midfielder.
Last year saw the English "wonderkid", as dubbed by talent scout Jacek Kulig, move back into a central role and start 33 games for Les Dogues – playing 39 overall – in which he once again scored three goals but returned a more impressive six assists.
This season has been the Edmonton-born midfielder's best yet and has perfectly encapsulated one of his most impressive traits: his versatility.

Ultimately, United did try to keep a hold of Gomes in 2020, but perhaps they should have made a more compelling pitch than they did as, based on his performances over the last few years, his valuation looks set to keep rising, and a team with both him and Mainoo in it would have been tremendously exciting.

The PCB has filed a claim for damages against IMG Reliance, in relation to its decision to pull out of a deal to produce television coverage of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) earlier this year. IMG Reliance pulled out days after a terrorist attack killed 44 Indian paramilitary troopers on February 14, heightening tensions between India and Pakistan. The claim is to be heard at the London Court of International Arbitration.According to the PCB, IMG Reliance were sent a legal notice on October 21st, seeking compensation from the broadcaster for the loss the PCB incurred because of the pull-out. The PCB received no reply, prompting them to take the matter to court.In a PCB meeting set to take place on Friday, Chairman Ehsan Mani will brief the Board of Governors about the move. The PCB is set to state that the “breach of contract by IMGR could have resulted in the remaining PSL matches not being broadcast on television; this would have severely damaged the standing and reputation of the PSL.”The abrupt decision by IMG Reliance left the PCB at the time scrambling to find another broadcaster. And because of the compromised position it left the PCB in, revenues took a hit because of the new deal. It took two days for the PCB to strike a deal with Blitz and Trans Group, who bought the rights to arrange television broadcasts for the PSL for approximately USD 36 million, with this deal set to run till the end of the 2022 season.The PCB’s relations with IMG Reliance soured thereafter. For the five-match ODI series against Australia in March, and the recently concluded limited-overs internationals against Sri Lanka in Pakistan, the PCB had stipulated to Blitz and Trans Group that IMG Reliance would not be involved with the process in any way, and that the PCB had blacklisted them.The fallout of the attack on Indian paramilitary troopers continued to afflict the PSL beyond its TV coverage. Military tensions between India and Pakistan necessitated much of Pakistan’s airspace to be closed, and meant the three fixtures of the PSL scheduled to take place in Lahore had to be moved to Karachi. For a time, the India-Pakistan game at the World Cup was under threat, though it did eventually go ahead.
Glasgow Rangers' activity in the transfer market over the previous few years has been very Jekyll and Hyde in nature.
On the one hand, duds such as Carlos Pena, Juninho Bacuna, Jordan Jones and George Edmundson, plus a handful of others, have all graced the Ibrox pitch since the Gers gained promotion in 2016, yet they failed to have a positive impact.
On the other hand, however, the Light Blues have made the occasional signing, which has paid off. The likes of Jack Butland, Alfredo Morelos, John Lundstram, and Todd Cantwell are all players who arrived at Ibrox for either nothing or a very small transfer fee and exceeded expectations.

While Michael Beale may have been sacked due to some horrendous results during the early part of the season, he did bring two of the above to Ibrox, while also securing winger Abdallah Sima on a season-long loan deal from Brighton and Hove Albion.
He was arguably one of the few bright sparks between August and October last year, scoring for fun despite Beale’s style of play being anything but.

The Senegal international enjoyed a productive spell at Slavia Prague between 2020 and 2022, scoring 16 goals and registering seven assists in just 39 matches, which sealed a move to Brighton.
Sima has yet to play a single game for the south coast side, spending a few spells out on loan, but it has been his stint in Glasgow which has been the most successful, showing that he has what it takes to make it for a top-flight club.

Across 33 games for the Glasgow side this term, the 22-year-old has found the back of the net on 15 occasions, chipping in with two assists too, making himself the undisputed number one on the left wing.
He was chosen to represent Senegal at the recent Africa Cup of Nations tournament, yet suffered a hamstring injury during training and was thus sent home in order to recover.
Philippe Clement said the injury would keep him out for at least two months, thus missing some crucial matches. The good news is, he should be back for the title run-in, with his presence in the starting XI key to any success the club go on to have between now and May.

Not only does Sima rank third among his teammates for goals and assists in the Premiership this term (12), but he also ranks first for successful dribbles per game (1.5) and third for shots per game (three), showing how effective he is in front of goal.
At the time of writing, Sima is currently valued at €7.9m (£6.7m) according to Football Transfers and if he can bounce back from injury to enjoy a goal-laden run across the final few matches, this will certainly increase.
He is one of the highest valued players at the club just now, yet going by inflation, a player who represented the Gers between 2002 and 2004 was worth a lot more upon his departure to Spain in the summer of 2004 – Mikel Arteta.

Towards the end of the 2001/02 season, it was announced that Rangers had secured the signature of Mikel Arteta for a fee of £6m from Barcelona, with Alex McLeish lavishing praise on the Spaniard.

Arteta enjoyed a wonderful debut campaign in Glasgow, playing 27 league matches, scoring four times as the club won their first title since 2000. Up stepped Arteta. With 50,000 supporters behind him and the weight of expectations on his shoulders, the youngster slotted the ball into the net like he was playing at the local park, thus entering the history books as the club became the first side in the world to win their domestic league 50 times.
Nine goals in 30 games the following season meant he was one of their better performers in an otherwise shoddy campaign, but when Real Sociedad came calling in 2004, McLeish had no choice but to sell him.

With financial issues hampering the club, Rangers accepted an offer of £3.6m from the La Liga outfit ahead of the 2004/05 season, meaning they had lost money on the deal.
In 2024 money, however – with Totally Money adjusted for inflation over the years – Arteta would be worth £13m in the market today, showing that Rangers hit the jackpot by moving on the young Spaniard when they did.
This means he would also be worth nearly £6m more than Sima, who has been one of their best performers this season, showing just how valuable Arteta was 20 years ago.

José Mourinho was 42 years and 94 days old when he led Chelsea to the 2005 league title, while Arteta will be 42 years and 54 days old on the final day of the current campaign.
He has certainly come a long way since playing against the likes of Partick Thistle and Motherwell during his stint at Ibrox between 2002 and 2004, but he will always be fondly remembered as the player who sealed league title number 50 for the Light Blues on that wonderful day in May 2003.

واستأنف: “الأخطاء واردة ولجنة الحكام على مسافة واحدة من الجميع، من يرتكب خطأ متعمد حسابه سيكون عسيرًا”.
واستكمل: “لا توجد لدينا أزمات مع أحد ولا توجد مشكلة في تصحيح الأخطاء، وبعد الانتهاء من جلسة غدًا والاستماع للحكام، سأقول هل أنا راض عن أداء الطاقم في المباراة أم لا، سنعطي فرصة للحكام لكي يتحدثون”.
ورد نور الدين على تصريحات جهاد جريشة بشأن احتياج التحكيم المصري لإعادة هيكلة: “نحاول لم شمل الحكام، لكن عندما يصدر تصريح خارج عن اللباقة بهذا الشكل، لا يمكننا الرد عليه”.

وأضاف: “ولن أدخل في مهاترات، لكني أبلغت مجلس الإدارة بأن يمتثل إلى التحقيق، وإما أن يعتذر أو سيتم التصعيد للجنة الأولمبية، لكي لا يصدر تصريحات كل من يبحث عن أي منصب”.
وأتم: “جريشة يتكلم عن المنظومة، هل هو يرى أي أخطاء تحدث، إذا كان يرى فليتحدث ما دون ذلك فهو كلام مرسل، نحن نكتفي من الضغوط الخارجية، ويجب أن يكون كل فرد مسؤول عن تصريحاته، وسنتخذ إجراءات ضد كل من يخطئ في حق الحكام”.
