Leicestershire remain on course to win three consecutive championship matches for the first time in 20 years

ScorecardLeicestershire are strong favourites to win three consecutive championship matches for the first time in 20 years after setting Middlesex a fourth innings target of 381 to win their match at the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road.Increasingly variable bounce on the previously used pitch, evident throughout the Leicestershire second innings, makes it an even tougher prospect for the 2016 county champions.It was also a huge factor in the fall of the second last wicket of an absorbing day’s cricket, when Middlesex opener Sam Robson, having batted impressively in going to 31, received a delivery from Gavin Griffiths that both seamed back in and stayed horribly low to pin him leg before wicket.The dismissal broke a partnership of 51 between Robson and Steve Eskinazi, who came together after just three balls of the innings, when Max Holden had edged a Ben Raine delivery which both lifted and left him outside off-stump.Had Eskinazi and skipper Dawid Malan been together at the close, there would still have been real hope for the visitors, but with eight balls remaining in the day, Malan pressed forward to Raine and edged to wicketkeeper Hill to leave his team still needing 299 runs with just seven wickets in hand.The tone of a day which saw Middlesex show real spirit after conceding a huge first innings lead of 194 was set by Middlesex seamers Tim Murtagh and James Harris. Murtagh, having taken 5 for 52 in Leicestershire’s first innings, conceded just 14 runs in bowling 13 consecutive overs from the Bennett End, and with Harris almost equally parsimonious from the Pavilion End, Leicestershire opener Harry Dearden faced 71 balls in scoring just six runs before edging Murtagh to the wicketkeeper.By then Harris had bowled Colin Ackermann, scorer of 196 not out in the first innings for just 3, and when a disbelieving Mark Cosgrove went leg before to the occasional offspin of Holden, Leicestershire were struggling, the more so when Harris bowled Hill with a delivery which seamed back in.A stand of 50 between Raine and Neil Dexter gave Leicestershire’s innings a modicum of impetus, but Dexter will want to quickly forget his dismissal, wandering out of his crease after bottom edging a Murtagh delivery along the ground to wicketkeeper Simpson. The alert Simpson rolled the ball back on to the stumps, and Dexter, not attempting a single, had indeed been stumped.Leicestershire’s tail, as has regularly been the case this season, made useful contributions to drag the score up to 186, with Murtagh finishing with 3 for 27, and overall match figures of 8 for 79.

وتابع: “نادي بيراميدز ولد عملاق، لكن عندما تختار إدارة تدخل في صراع دائم، وتوصل لملاك النادي إن هناك عناد في مصر من المسؤولين ضد النادي حتى لا يحصل على لقب هذا غير مقبول، خاصة أن الفريق يمتلك لاعبين يحصلون على أرقام خيالية”.

واستطرد: “مع ذلك لا يحصلون على بطولة، لذلك تقوم الإدارة بتوصيل فكرة للملاك بأن السلطة الرياضية في مصر ضد النادي، وهذا كان واضح في البيان”.

وحول ما هو التجاوز في بيان بيراميدز من وجهة نظرك؟، أجاب: “عندما يقولون إن اتحاد الكرة ورابطة الأندية لا يفهمون اللوائح، عندما يكون التجاوز بهذا الأسلوب هل هذا مقبول!”.

وواصل: “الزمالك عندما انسحب لم يتجاوز، ولم يُقلل من رابطة الأندية ولا اتحاد الكرة، قال كل الاحترام للمسؤولين ولكني لن ألعب المباراة، لكن من كتب بيان بيراميدز قال إن في عدم فهم من المسؤولين، هم مُحقين في تحديد موعد اللقاء في وقت قصير”.

وزاد: “لكن أن يُقال عدم إدراك وعدم مفهومية لرموز اتحاد الكرة والرابطة، بيراميدز له حق الاعتراض، لكن عليه عندما يعترض ألا يكون بهذا الأسلوب”.

وأكمل: “الزمالك اشتكاني في لجنة الانضباط، ويريد أن يقتص مني، لكنه لم يسيء لشخصي ولا الرابطة، بيراميدز كان من حقه أن يعترض بأدب الحوار، لا يجب أن يوصلوا للملاك أن في عداوة مع الإدارة الرياضية وأن في تكتل ضدهم وهذا غير صحيح، وارد اتحاد الكرة يقبل هذا الكلام أو الرابطة، لكن من سيتجاوز في حقي الشخصي سيكون لي رد فعل”.

وحول لماذا تم استكمال المباراة وليس إعادتها؟، أوضح: “المشكلة في مصر هو إصدار قرار بدون مُبرر، السبب في هذا اللغط إننا كان المفروض نوضح من البداية إن في 3 تقارير، تقرير المراقب وتقرير الحكم، وتقرير من محافظة الإسكندرية لنعرف سبب الحريق”.

وواصل: “تبين إن ما حدث ظروف خارجة عن إرادة أي طرف، وأن سموحة ليس له علاقة بالأمر، وبناءً على التقارير رأت لجنة المسابقات استكمال المباراة، علمًا بأن الرابطة كانت قد اتخذت قرارًا بإعادة اللقاء، لكن لجنة المسابقات رأت أن الأفضل استكمال المباراة بظروفها”.

وأشار: “هذا الأمر ليس جديدًا الاتحاد الإفريقي والدولي يفعل ذلك، ولكنه أمر جديد علينا في مصر، وحتى لا يشعر أحد بوجود مُجاملة لـ سموحة بعد طرد الهاني سليمان، فتم اتخاذ هذا القرار، وقد تكون هذه حالة جديدة، وسنستفيد من الأمر وسيتم وضعها في لائحة الموسم الجديد”.

وحول اعتراض بيراميدز على عدم لعب منافسيه الساعة 4 عصرًا؟، أردف: “هذا الأمر مرتبط بالتسويق التلفزيوني من بداية الموسم، كل الأندية تتحدث عن النادي الأهلي وأنه يُجامل، رغم أن الأهلي كثيرًا يشتكي من لجنة المسابقات وعامر حسين، وهذا دليل على أن الأخير لا يُجامل أحد، وبيراميدز نفسه يعلم أن التسويق التلفزيوني له أمور معينة لا بد أن تتم”.

وأزاد: “الزمالك سيلعب الساعة 4 عصرًا مع طلائع الجيش، وهذا لأن في نفس اليوم الأهلي سيلعب مباراة وبيراميدز أيضًا وهما فريقان يتنافسان، وسيلعبان في نفس الموعد، ولم نقل ذلك حتى لا يُقال إننا نؤكد بأن الزمالك خارج المنافسة، لم نعد نعرف أن نتحدث، الناس تريد الصمت، أن يتم اتخاذ قرارات ولا نرد لأن الرد سيجعل كل الأطراف تُهاجمك”.

وحول اقتراح إيقاف الدوري بسبب منتخب مصر الأولمبي؟، أجاب: “لو الدوري توقف حتى تنتهي الأولمبياد فسيتم إلغائه، لأنه بذلك سننهي الدوري في شهر سبتمبر وسيبدأ بعده الموسم الجديد وهذا أمر صعب جدًا، وصعب يتم تأجيل أي مباراة أخرى قادمة”.

واختتم: “طلبت من عامر حسين بأن يعقد مؤتمرًا صحفيًا بعد نهاية الموسم، ليشرح للناس لماذا كانت توجد مؤجلات، عامر حسين لا يُجامل أحد، هو غير مُنشغل بأي شيء عن إدارة المسابقات ويعمل باحترافية لأنه يُحب عمله، هو غير مُجامل وهذا طبعه”.

The Red Devils have had a frustrating start to the new season on the pitch, already losing half of their opening eight Premier League fixtures alongside the first two Champions League group games.

A takeover process involving the Glazers is still yet to be resolved, but in better news, the club are still in the EFL Cup, a competition they won during Erik ten Hag’s first year in charge. Another home draw was handed to United in the round of 16 against Newcastle United, with that specific fixture scheduled for Wednesday, November 1.

It has recently been confirmed that Newcastle's ticket allocation for Man United is more than 7,000 tickets, however, those at Old Trafford, and by extension decision makers the Glazers, will be charging £39 for an adult away ticket. Speaking about the Newcastle ticket update to Football Insider, Maguire, who contributes for Sky Sports, hit out at the Glazers, labelling them “a disgrace to football”.

“Glazer Greed, unfortunately, has become a watchword for all that is bad in football. The Glazers know that Newcastle will travel in numbers regardless of the price. I think it’s indicative of the cynicism of the Glazers that they are taking these fans for as much as they think they can get away with.

“They’ve got the cheek of the devil to charge these prices, especially for a Tuesday or Wednesday night match. They’re a disgrace to football.”

‘Hardest day’s cricket in my life’ – Paine

Tim Paine described playing in Australia’s heaviest ODI loss as the “hardest day” of cricket he had ever experienced. England’s 242-run victory – their biggest winning margin in an ODI – secured an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series and left the Australian side, depleted through injury and suspensions, reeling.Spearheaded by centuries for Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales, England smashed the record for the highest innings when they set Australia a target of 482 for victory. None of Australia’s bowlers were spared and at times a total of 500 seemed possible.”It was tough,” said Paine. “I thought I had some headaches last game after about the 25th over when I got hit in the head but I had a few more out there today to be honest .”I’ve just said in the changing rooms, I’ve been playing cricket since I was a kid and that’s the hardest day’s cricket I’ve ever had in my life.”Everything we tried didn’t work and everything they tried came off. Normally that happens for an hour or two and you get a couple of wickets but it happened for as long as it did.”You’ve got to take your hat off. They struck the ball as well as I’ve ever seen.”Paine had won the toss and elected to field on what was an ideal batting surface at Trent Bridge but he said England’s form meant his decision had no bearing on the result.”I don’t think the conditions or the wicket or what we did first had anything to do with that result. We just ran into some guys that are absolutely red hot at the moment and yeah they put us to the sword a bit but certainly, from batting or bowling second, the wicket was still terrific when we batted on it as well. We just didn’t execute so well with either.”Paine used a total of eight bowlers as Australia tried to prise out wickets on a pitch that gave them little assistance and against batsmen who punished the good balls as well as the bad.”When we are out there it’s all about staying calm and clear as possible and as you saw today that can be really difficult for a bowler when you’re getting smacked around the park and the crowd’s going berserk.”It can be hard to stay on track and you know even the simplest plans can be forgotten. I was just trying to stay as calm as I could with them because I know they’re a really inexperienced attack. We just kept talking about what we could do and what we’d said we would do. Just tried to keep it calm and simple.”With the series lost, Paine indicated that Australia will continue to tinker with their batting line-up as they try to fill the significant holes left by the absence of Steven Smith and David Warner. But a two-day turnaround before the fourth ODI in Chester-le-Street leaves the new captain and coach, Justin Langer, with little time to lift their charges.”The best place for these guys to learn is on the job,” Paine said. “So as bad as it feels right now this can be a big positive for us going forward that we’ve gone through a day like this and the guys realise that the sun comes up tomorrow and we get another crack at it in two days’ time.”

This week, another target for Arteta has surfaced through the media as well, with some Douglas Luiz transfer news claiming the Spaniard is personally eager to bring him in. 90min reported on Monday that Arsenal are keen to sign Luiz, with both Arteta and Edu also huge admirers.

"Arsenal remain interested in trying to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa following his excellent start to the 2023/24 season," wrote journalists Sean Walsh and Graeme Bailey.

وأكد: “كومان (المدير الفني لمنتخب هولندا) مدرب ذو خبرة، يمكنه التعامل مع المباراة بطريقة مختلفة تمامًا عن المباريات التي لعبوها بالفعل، لذلك نحن مستعدون لأي شيء”.

Em um período de 13 meses, o lateral-esquerdo Thiago Carleto passou de maior esperança técnica e liderança no elenco do Vitória a jogador que não faz mais parte do plantel do Vitória com sua rescisão contratual oficializada na última segunda-feira (23).

Após chegar em outubro de 2019 quando tinha poucas oportunidades no Ceará, o jogador de 31 anos de idade teve papel fundamental na arrancada obtida pelo Leão da Barra na campanha bem sucedida de escapar do rebaixamento para a terceira divisão do futebol brasileiro na última temporada.

Através de vídeo publicado nas suas redes sociais, o jogador se pronunciou sobre a situação falando somente em tom de agradecimento a diversas partes do clube baiano:

-Estou passando aqui para agradecer do fundo do meu coração esse ano que tive no Vitória. Agradecer a torcida, a tia da cozinha, roupeiro, ao segurança, a todos os funcionários. Agradecimento especial ao presidente, Paulo Carneiro, e ao Alarcon, diretor, por tudo que fizeram por mim, por terem me respeitado até o final. Foi uma decisão difícil. A gente sabe que encerra esse ciclo com o dever cumprido. Eu, particularmente, me sinto lisonjeado de ter vestido a camisa do Vitória. Passar para vocês meu muito obrigado, do fundo do meu coração. Eu e minha família agradecemos o apoio e carinho que recebemos nesse ano que tivemos no Vitória.

Em meio aos 41 compromissos e nove gols marcados pelo Vitória, Carleto viveu altos e baixos onde as críticas referentes a erros na parte defensiva contrastavam com seu papel no ataque e personalidade nas declarações.

Todavia, a parte crítica pesou consideravelmente nas últimas semanas com direito, inclusive, a relatos de que o pós-jogo onde o time perdeu por 2 a 1 para o Sampaio Corrêa teve um desentendimento entre Carleto e colegas que o cobraram nos vestiários.
