Nos 15 primeiros minutos de partida, o Corinthians esteve bem melhor e dominou as ações. O Fortaleza, nesse período, teve um bom contra-ataque pelo lado esquerdo da defesa alvinegra, mas Gil afastou o perigo. Em resposta, Sidcley inverteu uma bela bola para Fagner chegar na área e bater de primeira, mas novamente Felipe Alves conseguiu salvar a meta do Tricolor cearense.

Ainda na primeira etapa, o Timão ainda teve duas chances interessantes, ambas com Jô. A primeira de cabeça, aproveitando lançamento de Danilo Avelar, que acabou indo para fora e depois, com um leve desvio de pé esquerdo, emendando passe alto de Léo Natel, defendida por Felipe Alves. Já o Tricolor teve uma boa chance em contra-ataque finalizado por David.

A verdade é que a partir dos 15 minutos, a equipe de Rogério Ceni conseguiu encaixar melhor a marcação e o seu bom sistema defensivo neutralizou as ações corintianas, que ao mesmo tempo tiveram uma queda de intensidade significativa. Os comandados de Tiago Nunes conseguiram ficar mais tempo com a posse da bola, mas sem ameaçar o Fortaleza, que por sua vez tentava jogar esperando um erro do adversário para armar contra-ataques.

Na volta do intervalo, sem mudanças de ambos os lados, o Corinthians não só permaneceu com a queda de rendimento notada no primeiro tempo, mas conseguiu piorar. A lentidão nas jogadas e falta de intensidade facilitaram a vida do Fortaleza, que construiu as melhores chances do início da etapa final. Até que em lançamento de Felipe Alves, Romarinho desviou para Wellington Paulista, que cruzou para o próprio Romarinho marcar e abrir o placar.

Quando o gol saiu, Tiago Nunes havia acabado de tirar Araos e Ruan Oliveira e colocar Luan e Mateus Vital. As alterações, porém, só foram dar certo aos 22 minutos, quando Avelar chutou de longe e acertou a trave. No rebote, Sidcley cruzou, Jô desviou e Luan acertou o travessão, em seguida Léo Natel finalizou para fora. Dois minutos depois, Vital chutou para defesa do goleiro Felipe Alves.

O Corinthians dava sinais de que havia melhorado, então Tiago Nunes aproveitou para colocar o time mais à frente. Boselli e Gustavo Mosquito entraram nos lugares de Léo Natel e Cantiilo. Poucos minutos depois, Mosquito tentou chute, a zaga do Fortaleza afastou mal e a bola sobrou para Luan emendar com finalização de primeira e empatar a partida com um belo gol.

O Tricolor cearense, que havia recuado demais após fazer o gol, precisou acordar quando levou o empate e passou a dominar mais as ações ofensivas na reta final da partida, enquanto o Timão tentava equilibrar novamente as condições de jogo, no entanto, ambos os times acabaram produzindo muito pouco para conseguir sair com a vitória nesta quarta-feira, na Arena.

Com o resultado, o Corinthians chega aos cinco pontos e vai para a 12 posição na tabela do Brasileirão, no próximo domingo, às 11h, enfrenta o São Paulo, no Morumbi, pela sexta rodada. Já o Fortaleza também vai aos cinco pontos, mas atinge a 14ª posição. Neste sábado, os cearenses pegam o Red Bull Bragantino, às 21h, no Castelão, jogo válido igualmente pela sexta rodada da competição.

وحسبما ذكرت صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية، فإنه من المتوقع عودة فيليكس من جديد إلى أتلتيكو مدريد عقب انتهاء فترة إعارته مع برشلونة.

ووقع فيليكس عقدًا جديدًا مع أتلتيكو مدريد قبل رحيله إلى برشلونة، حتى عام 2029.

Chelsea are still "pushing" for a "10/10" talent and someone tipped to be a "future midfield leader" after completing the record-breaking deal to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion, per transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

Chelsea transfer news – what is the latest?

The transfer window is already one of the most entertaining periods in the football calendar, one filled with twists, turns, and drama everywhere you look, but perhaps no club does it better than Chelsea.

Ever since their takeover by the Russian Billionaire Roman Arkadyevich Abramovich in 2004, the West Londoners have consistently splashed unimaginable amounts of cash on a seemingly yearly basis, and they've done it again.

After the dramatic developments on Thursday night that saw Brighton accept Liverpool's offer of £111m for their Ecuadorian dynamo Caicedo it looked like Mauricio Pochettino's side had quite embarrassingly lost out on their number one transfer target after spending months trying to get a deal over the line.

And yet, in another twist nobody saw coming, the 21-year-old turned down the Reds, preferring instead a move to Stamford Bridge following the discussions he had been having with the team.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, a deal has been agreed for a new Premier League record fee of £115m, with the medical already booked and ready to go.

However, with the Pensioners still a little light in midfield, they look set to continue in their pursuit of Southampton wonderkid Romeo Lavia, and just as with Caicedo, they could steal him from under the noses of Liverpool, per Transfers expert Fabrizio Romano.

He explained the situation on his YouTube channel and how the Blues are still "pushing" to secure the youngster's signature:

"One of the players in the list of both Liverpool and Chelsea remains Romeo Lavia. Let's see how Chelsea will act after signing Moises. They spent a lot of money, so let's see if they will decide to go also on Romeo Lavia.

"They had the bid in at Southampton, but the same happened also in Liverpool, so both clubs are actively working on Lavia. At the moment, we still have to wait and see how Chelsea will act after closing the Caicedo deal because the focus was on Caicedo in the recent hours and let's see also what Liverpool will decide to do if they want to push for Lavia or maybe go on another Target.

"But I can tell you that Liverpool are already speaking to agents of other players in that position, so there is Lavia but not only Lavia. And Chelsea remain interested in the Lavia deal, so everything is open on that one. Let's see what's going to happen.

"But Chelsea pushing Liverpool still there but Liverpool also speaking to agents of other players for that position so let's see what's going to happen there."

How much will Romeo Lavia cost?

Southampton have been entirely consistent in their appraisal of their youngster so far this year, with the club constantly reaffirming their valuation of the teenager is £50m, following all three of Liverpool's bids that have been slightly below that figure.

However, with demand in the 19-year-old increasing and Chelsea's need for bodies in midfield, Todd Boehly and Co have seemingly increased the asking price, with 90min reporting that they made an offer worth £55m on August 11th.

Not to be outdone and lose another priority target to the same team in under a week, Jurgen Klopp's side have reportedly agreed on a deal worth £60m with the Championship club, per Sky Sports News.

While this is a significant development in this evolving saga, the same publication also reiterates exactly what Romano has said, that regardless of this agreement, Chelsea are 'still pushing to sign Lavia.'

While the fee might be ballooning a far beyond what either team would've thought likely just a week ago, the full Belgium international is an excellent player and an exciting prospect that would help improve both teams' midfield.

Football talent scout Jacek Kulig was raving about him only a few months ago, saying:

"Roméo Lavia is a very underrated passer. Born in 2004. Maturity and quality. 10/10 talent. The future midfield leader of Belgium NT and a top Premier League club."

If the West Londoners can sign Caicedo and Lavia in the same week whilst depriving a direct rival of their services, it could go down as one of the greatest transfer coups ever.

Newcastle United have an "interest" in a £25m defender hailed as a "natural leader" but will face competition from teams across Europe for his signature, per Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam.

While things have been going brilliantly for the Toon ever since the Saudi-led consortium took over in late 2021, the last few months have probably gone better than anyone was really expecting.

From qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in over two decades at the end of last season, to making one of the summer's statement signings in AC Milan's Italian international Sandro Tonali and now kicking off this season with a spectacular 5-1 demolition of Aston Villa – things could hardly be better.

And while the Magpies have made some other astute signings alongside Tonali, like Harvey Barnes from Leicester City and Tino Livramento from Southampton, manager Eddie Howe has made it clear he would like to add more as the side prepares to fight on multiple fronts this year.

One area of the team he would like to improve is left-back, as while Dan Burn has been brilliant for the side, Matt Targett could be improved upon, and the player that could do it is Arsenal's forgotten man, Tierney.

The Scotsman was a target for the Toon earlier in the window, and it looks like they have now reignited that interest and could land the dynamic full-back for as little as £25m, should they be able to beat out other interested parties, per Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam.

He explained the situation on Sky Sports News (via Football Daily), saying:

"We understand that Newcastle retain an interest in Kieran Tierney. [He] wasn't involved in the matchday squad this weekend for Arsenal's game against Nottingham Forest.

"The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour really in North London; however, he still has three years left on his current contract. Now we understand Newcastle have to be very clever and creative with the players they sign between now and the end of the window because of FFP.

"Eddie Howe said he would love, dearly love to add to his squad where possible, however, they don't have huge funds to do it. There are a number of clubs interested in Kieran Tierney; Real Sociedad seem to be the most keen at this stage on potentially taking him on loan.

"We understand Arsenal value him at £25m, which is what they paid for him in 2019. However, the clubs that have expressed an interest have all said, 'What's the deal with regards to a loan?'

"So this is going to be one to monitor, we know that that's an area of the pitch that Eddie Howe's looking to strengthen at left-back."

Where was Kieran Tierney born?

Born June 5th 1997, in Douglas, the Isle of Man, the 26-year-old moved to the mainland when he was just ten months old with his family settling in Wishaw, Scotland.

Before moving to Arsenal in 2019, the all-action left-back spent three-and-a-half years at Celtic, where he won everything there was to win in Scottish football and became a fan favourite for his battling displays and fantastic work ethic.

While his time in North London was initially blighted by injuries before new signings slowly replaced him, he was still able to show, in glimpses, that same fantastic work ethic that won him so many fans north of the border.

He is also mature beyond his years and was – at points – tipped to be a future captain for the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta hailing him as a "natural leader" only a couple of seasons ago.

For a player that has had such a stop-start time of it over the last year, his underlying numbers are still quite impressive and suggest that he could be excellent were he given a proper run of games in the Newcastle eleven.

According to FBref, which compares players in a similar position across Europe's top five leagues, the £110,000-a-week man sits in the top 11% for total shots, the top 17% for non-penalty expected goals, the top 18% for progressive passes and the top 21% for progressive carries, all per 90.

For the reported price of just £25m, this seems like a no-brainer of a deal, and Newcastle should be doing all they can to get it over the line, even if that means spending a little bit more than they wanted to this summer as he would add genuine quality and depth to that left-hand side.

Guyana began their defence of the Regional 4-Day title with a 263-run win over Jamaica, set up by Veerasammy Permaul’s match-haul of ten wickets, and a lower-order century from Keemo Paul.Permaul’s 6 for 29 in 19.5 overs skittled Jamaica out for 99 in the first innings, giving Guyana a 167-run lead. Seventy runs in Jamaica’s innings came from just two batsmen – Assad Fudadin (39) and captain Paul Palmer (31) – as they were bowled out in a little over 50 overs. Guyana had earlier posted 266, with half-centuries from wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble (62) and No. 3 Chandrapaul Hemraj (60) anchoring them.Guyana’s efforts to build the 167-run lead were stifled by Dennis Bulli’s strikes in their second innings but Paul, batting at No. 8 scored his maiden first-class century to ensure Jamaica were set an imposing 483 to chase in the fourth innings. His knock helped Guyana from 157 for 6, as he shared half-century stands with Leon Johnson and Sherfane Rutherford. Paul’s 107 off 129 balls included 12 fours and four sixes.
